Spark To Your Success wants to say a big thank you to Oscar Dunn-Long, who recently raised money for our organisation to help positively impact young people and their families.
Oscar set up a fundraiser by holding a table sale selling books and other items, along with a raffle, cake sale, a ‘Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar’ competition, and even a treasure map game to support Spark To Your Success. With the help of his mum, Heather, the sale was held outside Oscar’s home in Stafford, along with online donations too, and thanks to all the donators, contributors and help from team Spark, we’re proud to say the event was a huge success.
‘’I really want to raise as much as I can to help this amazing charity that supports local families and teenagers struggling with their mental health’’ said Oscar, who decided one day he wanted to raise money for a charity. Initially, Oscar wanted to hold a fundraiser for Cancer Research, in memory of his Grandma who he sadly recently lost. However, his mum Heather, who is a networking colleague of Pam Green, told Oscar about Spark To Your Success and the support we do to help young people and their families.
After hearing about the work Spark To Your Success does, Oscar decided to support us instead and formed a plan to raise as much money as he could. He set about collecting donations for raffle prizes and creating fundraising ideas, such as the treasure map game and sweet jar competition, and even sold some of his own books and toys!
Ever the entrepreneur, Oscar created his own flyer and posted it around his local area, with the goal of raising £500. The turnout was so amazing that he succeeded in his original donation goal, quickly reaching £641. Encouraged by the generosity of donators and contributors, Oscar now hopes £750 can be raised through the donation page.
Spark To Your Success is very proud and supportive of Oscar, and we are so grateful for his amazing fundraising efforts to positively impact people’s lives. All the money raised by Oscar will go directly to supporting young people and their families, who otherwise would not be able to access our services.
